Healthy Snacks For Kids - At Home Or On The Go

Kids love snacks. They’d probably eat them all day if they could so it’s best to throw in some healthy options. Below are some of Deucey’s go-to snack choices. Your child may love these as well! 

Fruit. There are so many different fruits to choose from. Whether it’s morning or evening, this is one of the best snack choices for kids...and adults too. Create your own fruit cups or simply cut the fruit up and place it inside of ziplock bags.
Some of Deucey’s favorites are blueberries, oranges, strawberries, melon, mangos, apples/applesauce and bananas. 

Veggie Chips/Straws. These are great for on the go. We usually place them into a small ziplock bag and allow him to crunch away. 

Quinoa Chips. These are a better alternative to potato chips and your child probably won’t know the difference.

Dried Fruit (Raisins, Cranberries). This snack is a good source of iron and helps prevent constipation. The individual boxes are perfect for on the go as well as being at home. 

Mashed avocados (babies/small toddlers) or guacamole and tortilla chips. Avocados are very healthy so if you can get your child to eat them in any way, it’s great! 

Cucumber slices. They’re packed with nutrients and antioxidants as well as great for promoting hydration.  

Carrot slices. You can either get the shredded carrots or slice them yourself. These are rich in beta-carotene and help keep the eyes healthy.

Smoothies. This is one of the best ways to get your child to consume fruits and vegetables. Don’t be afraid to try out different combinations. Stay tuned for our smoothie guide blog.
